SAFETY LIGHTS FOR ALL OCASSIONS by Michael Wynar

It’s only human nature to walk anywhere at night and not be somewhat concerned about your personal safety. Carrying a mini flashlight will help with your hesitation when walking down a poorly lit street or even walking to your car and hopefully alleviate some of your safety concerns.

LED flashlights are small and yet powerful enough that they can provide you with adequate lighting in a poorly lit environment, thus provide you with time to evaluate whether the distance ahead is safe for you to continue. These flash lights come in many sizes and many are small enough to be attached to your key chain, clip on to your belt, kept in your purse or coat pocket.

These extra bright high intensity lights are a must have for any bicyclist, joggers going out for an evening run, or children that may be coming home from a neighbor’s house. They can easily be attached to a bicycle, worn on your wrist, arm, shoes or belt clip. There are even pet safety lights that will attach to pet collars to make the pet somewhat visible if it should somehow get out at night. Typically these pet blinking lights can be spotted up to a distance of ½ mile, giving oncoming traffic an opportunity to exercise caution as they get closer to the blinking lights ahead.

While traveling at night, safety lights should be included in your emergency travel kit in the event you have a mechanical problem with your car and need assistance. These lights are very durable and waterproof and at night can be seen up to a mile away. How often have you traveled at night only to come up on a vehicle, off the side of the road that you did not see until the very last minute? You only had a moment to swerve out of the way to avoid a collision or even running someone over as they were walking on a dark unlit road to get help. Had the vehicle had a safety light on, you would have been aware of a possible problem and had time to take necessary precautions. How about the walking pedestrian, if he or she had been carrying a light while walking you would have had sufficient time to avoid possibly hitting them with your car and even offering them assistance.

Let’s not forget your home or business, walk into any home improvement store and you find a large selection of safety lights whether for your home or business. Having proper lighting around the home or business is critical for the safety of anyone on the property. Proper lighting should be added to any dark area of your home or business. Installing skylights, recessed lights and nightlights will provide you with added safety in and around your property. Motion detection lights that activate while walking to and from your property can minimize a possible lawsuit should someone trip, fall and injure themselves while on your property.

Safety lights are also a great deterrent, burglars do their best work in the dark and would find it a better idea to break into another property that is not well lit.

Another great idea, night lights with built-in batteries for inside your home in the event of a night time power outage. The last thing you need is to trip over furniture or something on the floor while your lights are out. Proper lighting inside your home is critical for everyone’s personal safety.
